Product and Chemical Safety in the Balkans – civil society cooperation on EU acquis and values for consumer and corporate responsibility

Financed by: European Commission, IPA Socio Economic Partnership Programme, project reference - EUROPA-AID 2010- 251 517 and Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Main goal: to increase awareness related to product and chemicals safety (product safety, chemicals, toys, cosmetics, ecolabels) in 3 Balkan countries - Albania, Macedonia, Serbia - and support them based on experiences of EU partners (BEF and WECF) that have already implemented related European acquis.
Activities: in frame of the project different events will be organised (trainings, round tables, conference) and several publications will be published.

Short summary of activities implemented by BEF Estonia
Target groups: representatives of government, agencies, CSO, employee, employer and industry associations, NGOs, local authorities, state authorities and media in Balkan countries
Lead partner: Women in Europe for a Common Future (WECF) is a network of women’s environmental organisations working on environmental protection, NGO capacity building, health and poverty reduction. One of WECF's most important goals is to raise awareness of hazardous chemicals in our every day life.
